If you spend most of your time online you probably have heard about extensions, or “add-on”, as you may call. If not, this post is especially for you. A software extension, or extension, is software that serves to extend the capabilities of or data available to an existing software application; its essentially an add-on feature that becomes included in some programs and could help you to improve your work. Here are my 6 best extensions for Google Chrome based on my experience, as well users recommendations. Don’t see your favorite extension here? Let us know in the comments.
Turn Off the Lights
This is one of my favorites, especially when i’m on Youtube. This extension will be fading to dark the entire page, so you can watch the video as if you were in the cinema. Its great when you want to see a movie or documentary.
Google Chrome to Phone Extension
I could describe this extension with one word, useful. Especially if you want to show something that you are working or seeing with your phone or tablet. Basically, this extension will let you send links from Google Chrome directly to your phone’s browser, with a simple press of a button.
Goo.gl URL Shortener
It’s probably the extension that i use more. Goo.gl URL shortener is an extension which allows you to shorten the current website URL for a small link or Qr code. You can also see how many clicks had the link.
If you don’t know what you are doing and don’t have time to explain to someone what you’re seeing, just grab the Skiblz Cam extension and record your screen. Skiblz Cam lets you record video without ever leaving your browser. Completely self contained and intuitive.
An easy screen capture extension that let you capture the whole page or any portion of the page. You can also annotate on the screenshot, blur sensitive info, and upload to share with just one click. This is a very solid and functional extension.
Google Mail Checker
Made for those that have Gmail and have to stay on top of the email all the time, this extension displays the number of unread messages in your google mail inbox and let you receive notifications via desktop, read or delete e-mails without opening them. Recommended.
Remember, by tweaking your Google Chrome, it can make your browser much more productive and interesting. Enjoy!
